Minnesota has counted his name on three presidential ballots and declined to hand him the state each time. That is not a stolen victory; that is a voting record. Telling voters the federal government will be ‘watching closely’ an election run by the state is less an endorsement than a warning label, and declaring the only possible path to defeat to be cheating means the candidate is being set up to have lost before a single ballot is opened. Nothing says ‘she will not let you down’ like a pre-written excuse for the moment she might.
