Darline Graham rides Trump backing to win South Carolina GOP race for late brother’s Senate seat

Darline Graham won South Carolina's Republican primary runoff to succeed her late brother, Senator Lindsey Graham, taking 52% of roughly 369,000 votes cast against U.S. Representative Ralph Norman's 48%. Trump appointed her to finish her brother's term after his death in July and campaigned for her ahead of the runoff.

MAGA Inc. spent more than $827,000 supporting Graham's campaign, while Norman, who lost despite dominating his home region, blamed outside PAC money and questioned why Trump entered the race at all. Graham will face Democrat Annie Andrews in November.

Graham has no prior campaign experience and stumbled during the primary debate when asked about Taiwan, saying she was 'not that informed on national security,' while Norman, despite deeper policy fluency, struggled to overcome doubts about his past criticism of Trump.
