The leader of the free world has once again filed a programming complaint with a cable channel, which is not, last anyone checked, among the enumerated powers. The damage is ‘incalculable,’ which is convenient, because it spares anyone the bother of calculating it, and the ‘losses’ Fox supposedly bears responsibility for go entirely unnamed, as if they were too terrible, or too imaginary, to mention. A man who has spent years telling America how to run New York is now outraged that a New Yorker is telling him how to run America. And ‘Dumocrat,’ a coinage at roughly playground grade, sits two sentences from ‘GOD BLESS AMERICA!’, which is apparently how presidential prose now gets its seasoning.
