In this telling, the latest frontier of election fraud is being born with a common surname. A man is branded “fraudulent” for having his own name, and a judge is told to feel ashamed for declining to strike a citizen from the ballot over it. The arithmetic undoes itself: the favored Sullivan is “leading by a lot,” yet a sliver of confused voters could sink him, which describes either a landslide or a panic, never both. Alaskans can presumably read a middle initial without a presidential rescue from the alphabet, and running for the Senate is about as ‘related to Politics’ as a person can get.
