France, a country with its own president, its own parliament and a centuries-long habit of not taking orders, has been told what it 'must' do in all caps. The diagnosis — an entire nation 'taken over' — is the sort of sweeping claim that requires no evidence because it offers none, only alarm. Shouting 'FAST' at an ally is not diplomacy; it is a man treating the planet as a reply section. One wonders how the White House would greet a French post telling America to close anything.
