The argument runs like this: the ad is bad, therefore it is good, therefore anyone who calls it bad is proof that it is good. That logic is now airtight, because nothing can get in or out of it. The president also says he has never heard of Amy Acton, yet he knows she has been lying for the entire campaign, a level of insight usually reserved for people who have heard of someone. Somewhere between the imaginary Ad of the Century starring his own late mother and the wish that his opponents' mothers would come forward, it becomes clear the post is less about Ohio than about drafting other people's parents into the war effort.
