Nobody in Congress has ever voted IN FAVOR of inflation, and no roll call on Earth lists ‘Highest Energy Costs’ as a yes-or-no option. The rest of the ledger works the same way: claims dressed up as votes, a coinage, ‘mutilization,’ that no dictionary will claim, and a ranking of presidencies that the ranker himself has kindly settled. It is signed in full capitals by a man who wants it known that his greatness, too, is on the record.
